What do I need?
Long Lines
A long line is a leash that is typically 7 - 10 meters long. This allows your dog to have more freedom to explore the scent trail, while still keeping them under control.
High Visibility Vests
Wearing a high-visibility vest can help to prevent accidents in low-light conditions by making you and your dog more visible to other people and vehicles. these will be provided where necessary.
Pots
Pots are usually 4 inches in diameter and can be round or square with sealed lids.
Food
The best type of food is high-value wet food, which releases endorphins adding to the feel-good factor of finding their trail layer. popular choices are cream cheese, cat food, fish, liver paste, wet dog food, but any combination of these or your dog's favorite treat will do.
Harnesses
When choosing a harness for mantrailing, it is important to select one that is well-fitting and comfortable for the dog. The harness should also be durable and able to withstand the rigours of mantrailing. I have a selection to try and I can help you with fitting.
